Have you been wondering how to engage membership and bring in new members?

Here's an easy idea from the Rotary Club of Oregon.

Through a joint social event, the Oregon and Byron club, enjoyed a nice evening with friends.

According to Dave Head, "The social event went well, we rented a back room of a local Pub and offered snacks and cash bar. The turn out was good but less than hoped for. We had about 25 members and guests, several prospective members."

He added that "although this is a good opportunity to invite prospects, the focus is on fellowship, and sharing ideas."

"The feedback from the event was very positive since they believe fellowship is important to membership retention and this is just the ticket.", Dave added.

They plan to hold these events at least quarterly with the next event at the end of May. They'll invite the Byron club and other area clubs to the next event.

What is your takeaway? "My takeaway is to not overthink it. Rent the room, invite members, and ask members to invite friends, easy…."

Congratulations to the Oregon Club and thank you for sharing your success.

We'll continue to have these Membership Minutes so send your ideas via email to 6420newsletter@gmail.com.
