Did you know that every year since 1980 Rotary has had a float in the annual Tournament of Roses Parade? This float is a source of great pride to Rotarians attending the Rose Parade and those watching around the world.  Indeed, the parade is watched by approximately 700,000 people along the parade route, more than 37 million individual television viewers in the United States, and millions more international viewers in more than 200 countries.   What a great way to share Rotary’s message with the world about all of the great service we provide!

The Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee is composed of more than 75 Rotarians from more than 25 Districts and has seven sponsoring Districts. The goal of the committee is to promote

2020 Tournament of Roses Parade

Rotary International to a worldwide audience.  The committee works throughout the year (1) raising funds from Rotary Clubs and Rotarians within the USA and Canada (Rotary International does not fund the float!), (2) selecting the theme for the float which corresponds with the theme for the Rose Parade and Rotary International’s theme for that year, and then (3) designing the float. The Committee also works with more than 1,000 other Rotary volunteers to decorate the float with all organic materials.

If you or your Club would like to donate to Rotary’s Tournament of Roses Parade float, please know that they need your support.  As I mentioned above, Rotary International does not fund the float.  Any amount would be welcome.  Please go to https://rotaryfloat.org/.  If you scroll down the home page there is a red button that says “Click Here to Donate.”  You may also send a contribution to Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee, Inc., P.O.
