Putnam County Rotary hosted its annual Road Apple Bingo event on Saturday September 26 during the local apple orchard's fall family event. District Governor Tina Curtis and husband Chip were on hand for the fundraiser in which a pony is paraded back and forth across a grid of 500 squares, until favoring one winning square with his first road apple of the day!
Squares are sold for $10 each, with a payout of $1,000 to the owner of the winning square. There are also two $50 drawings. This year's pony, Tonka, found her mark in just 42 minutes -- possibly a new record! Funds raised support local scholarships, PC Rotary's Little Free Pantry, the Dictionaries, and other Club projects throughout the year. ////photo: L-R: PC Rotary President Ron McNeill, PDG Scott Shore, Tonka the pony and Edith his owner, are joined by District Governor Tina and Chip Curtis for this year's Road Apple Bingo event held Sept. 26.
