If you planted your pollinator plot last fall you should be seeing your rewards growing and filling in.  If you didn’t plant last fall, now is your time to shine! The rain last week should have really gotten your plants (and weeds) growing.  Remember there will be weeding (and watering) until the perennials really fill in.

Mulch will help with both weeding and watering.  It is much easier to deal with weeds when they are small but you will probably be fighting those weeds all summer.  If you have bare spots or your perennials haven’t gotten big enough to outcompete those weeds yet, consider adding more perennials or even some annuals that will bloom all summer. I have heard from some of you that your club has really been busy this spring by putting in multiple pollinator plots (Rock Island I am looking at you!).  I  can't wait to see all of your efforts come to bloom over the summer and the pollinators that come to visit.

Please send pictures to bobbi.burke6420@gmail.com so I can share them as inspiration for everyone.
