The Taliban have been a big supporter of Polio inoculations. They have provided security in previous drive-by vaccinations, held by our Rotary Clubs in Kabul after the U.S. departure from the Country.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog that wins the battle. Clearly, Rotary is still in this fight to eradicate Polio from the face of the earth. It has led Rotary to:

- Rotary’s Afghanistan PolioPlus Committee will provide some funds to the families. This will be coordinated with the Rotary‘s partners.
- The IPPC and Trustees just gave $100,000 to the Keegan Heroes Fund at the CDC to help them help families of the vaccinators.
Tactic: Potentially use this story to:
- Emphasize that donations to Rotary actually accomplish things and provide aid in the world.
- We are still in a dangerous fight for Polio eradication.
- Rotary helps to support families affected by our effort to rid the world of Polio.
