On November 8 at the Foundation Dinner during District Conference Michael and Donna Steffenson of the Moline Rotary Club were honored as our District's second set of active Arch Klumph Society Members.
Michael graduated from Iowa State College in 1959 and was commissioned an Ensign in the U. S. Navy. He served 3 years on active duty and then 24 years in the Reserves retiring as a Captain. He joined Parr Instrument Company in Moline in 1962. He became President in 1972 and retired in 2023 after 61 years of service. During this time, the company grew ten-fold.

Michael was active in the community serving as Director, President, and Trustee of the Moline YMCA, Director and President of the Associated Employers of the Quad Cities, and Chairman of the Trustees of his church. In 2007, Michael was named to the Quad Cities Business Hall of Fame. He has been active in Alumni work at Iowa State University serving as a Director of the Research Foundation and a Governor of the ISU Foundation. He has been recognized with ISU’s highest awards for engineering, alumni activities, and philanthropy.

Michael joined the Moline Rotary Club in 1970 and served as President in 1980. He attended the International Convention in Chicago where Rotary was challenged to take on the task of eliminating polio from the world. He served for many years as his club’s Chairman of the Rotary Foundation Committee.

Donna graduated from Governors State College and the University of Oklahoma with an MBA. Donna’s career was in Education, Administration, and Community Outreach. She retired from Blackhawk College in Moline as the supervisor for four business centers focusing on Small Business, International Trade, Government Procurement, and Business Development. Donna received numerous recognitions for her work including star of the year in Illinois for her work in Small Business Development.

Donna was active in the community through leadership positions in the Chamber of Commerce and her church.  She was an active Rotarian during her professional career and became a Paul Harris Fellow long before she met Michael.

As a couple Michael and Donna believe in and support the Rotary Foundation's efforts to do good in the world.  They also should be thanked for their very generous donations to our Rotary Foundation.
