Six months into this Rotary year, I continue to be inspired by the passion, commitment, and heart you bring to your clubs and communities. Every visit, conversation, and service project is a reminder of why Rotary matters—and why you matter.
At the same time, I want to be realistic. Membership remains one of our biggest challenges. It’s not unique to our district, and it’s not new. But what is different is our willingness to talk about it openly, try new approaches, and support one another as we work through it together. Thank you for leaning in, even when the conversations are hard.

What hasn’t changed is the impact Rotary makes. Your tireless work—whether it’s local service, youth programs, fundraising, or simply showing up week after week—creates real change. Please know that your efforts are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.

As we look ahead, March brings PETS, and I can’t stress enough how important it is for all Presidents-Elect to attend Midwest PETS. PETS is more than training—it’s where you step into leadership and begin to see Rotary beyond your own club. It’s where I stopped being a club member and became a Rotarian. The relationships, perspective, and leadership mindset gained at PETS stay with you long after the weekend ends—and they directly impact the strength and future of your club.

Thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your belief in Rotary’s mission. Let’s keep the momentum going—together.

With gratitude,
DG Melissa
