The 78th annual Mendota Sweet Corn Festival was last weekend. The Rotary Club of Mendota entered a float in the parade for the first time. We won 3rd place in the community group.
There was a queen contest as well. The Rotary Club of Mendota sponsors a candidate every year. Our candidate Ella Martin won attendant. Lauren Holland was the other attendant and Crystal Garcia won queen. All 3 ladies were involved with interact all 4 years of high school.
As a club we sponsor a booth to sell walking tacos and water. Alisa Stewart was instrumental in constructing the booth, and scheduling interact members to work in shifts. As always it was a very profitable effort even though the weather did not cooperate.
