Hello District 6420! We have just five more months to IMAGINE a Rotary year filled with fun, fellowship, and service. All of these things can be enhanced by an increase in membership.
Think about your friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Who would make a good Rotarian? Who has a passion for serving others?
Invite these people to a club meeting. Better yet, invite them to your club’s next service project and let them see Rotary in action. It can’t help but get them excited about what our organization is all about. I recently got to induct a new member at the Illinois Valley Sunrise Club. She was so excited to be joining Rotary and I know she is going to make a great Rotarian.
How are you going to help grow your club?
One of the best things about being a Rotarian is our Rotary Foundation. It is how we as Rotarians get to do good in our communities and around the world. With just 5 months to go in this Rotary year, please make sure you have made your contribution to the Rotary Foundation. The amount doesn’t matter – it can be as little as $10. The point is to get into the habit of giving annually to our Foundation. If you do not know this already, Charity Navigator, the organization that reviews Foundations worldwide, annually gives our Rotary Foundation the highest marks it can give for transparency, efficiency, and impact – what more can you ask for if you are looking for somewhere to donate your hard-earned money?
While I know we all have our favorite charities I hope the Rotary Foundation is at least somewhere on your list.
While winter may be in full swing now, we all know spring (and baseball season!) are right around the corner. This seems like just the right time to recommit yourself to the world’s greatest service organization and all that it can do for you, your community, and the big world around us.
Rotarians are people of action. Let’s not miss our chance to serve others in both big and small ways. IMAGINE the difference we can make.
