This year, as part of our grant application, the Dixon Rotary Club focused on supporting initiatives that addressed food insecurity in our community. One of these investments was to a local organization called Buddy Bags. Buddy Bags is a non-profit organization that provides weekend meals for Dixon district students whose families may need assistance. This program is locally run, and the need has grown significantly, now serving up to 200 plus children each week.

The second donation our club made was to our Community Food Pantry to purchase a much-needed new freezer to support their food distribution efforts. This year, the food pantry provided food to 3,928 families and 12,457 individuals in the surrounding community.
