Welcome to the new 2022-2023 Rotary Year! I am super excited to serve as your District Governor and
even more excited about the year ahead as we get to “Imagine Rotary!”

Today I want to talk with you about our 2022-2023 District Conference and instilling a comfort and care philosophy into every Rotary
club.
From the Desk of the District Governor…

Welcome to the new 2022-2023 Rotary Year! I am super excited to serve as your District Governor and
even more excited about the year ahead as we get to “Imagine Rotary!” Today I want to talk with you
about our 2022-2023 District Conference and instilling a comfort and care philosophy into every Rotary
club.

First, you are invited to attend our 2022-2023 District Conference! It will be held November 4-5 on the
Northern Illinois University campus at the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center in DeKalb.

Please put those dates on your calendar now and plan to attend. The focus of the conference will be on leadership and we hope to address that topic from a variety of angles. We already have most of our speakers lined up so expect to hear more about them in the weeks to come. We hope the conference will excite, motivate, and inspire you to take your Rotary Service to a whole new level. Please plan on attending.

Second, during my club visits I’m talking a lot about instilling a comfort and care philosophy in every Rotary club. This is a priority of Rotary International President Jennifer Jones and something I want to make sure every club focuses on this Rotary year.

I challenge you to think about your Rotary club.
Is it the Rotary Club you want it to be?
Is it welcoming to all concerned?
Is it meeting your needs as a member?
Is the 4-Way Test and Service Above Self alive and well?

If the answer to all these questions is yes, that’s terrific. Carry on.

However, if the answer is no, please think about what needs to change or be done differently.

Our founder, Paul Harris, once said “There is nothing in Rotary so sacred that it cannot be set aside in favor of things better.” Ponder that and ponder what you can do to instill a
comfort and care philosophy in your Rotary Club.

Finally, I hope your summer has gone well. Mine has been full of club visits. If I haven’t been at your club yet, you can expect me soon. I should have all the visits completed by mid-September.

If I can answer any questions or respond to any concerns you might have, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Imagine Rotary!
