District Governor, Dave Emerick requested all Rotarians in district 6420 to donate 20 pounds of food to a local charity as part of his “Create Hope Food Drive Challenge”, which is certainly a great way to support our communities and those in need.

Currently with an emphasis on adding new members, re-writing bylaws and creating a legacy of future leadership the Belvidere Chapter might have felt their plates were full, but instead they stepped forward and filled the plates, or should I say bowls of others.  With the help of a local business, Americold, that incidentally has four Rotarians, they were able to collect 3,000 pounds of food, the majority being soup.  This is a feat for a club with just 33 members!  Empower Boone, the local food pantry will be the beneficiary of this souper-duper food drive.
