The annual district Training Assembly occurred on Saturday, April 6, at Sauk Valley Community College, Dixon, Illinois, from 9-11 AM. Sixty Rotarian leaders from across the District gathered to conduct official business, such as approving the 24-25 District budget, and to hone skills that will help their clubs serve their members and their communities effectively. DGE John Hurley welcomed the attendees and Governor Dave Emerick encouraged everyone to register on line for the District Conference, April 26-27.
Breakout learning sessions included Public Image, The Rotary Foundation, Youth Protection, Rotary Youth Exchange, and using Using ClubRunner. PDG Bobbi Burke shared how to embrace the 24-25 District Club Service Challenge by installing or enlarging a “Pollinator Plot” by 25 square feet (at least).
This is the third year that SVCC has provided the venue for the DTA event. In addition to the business and breakout learning sessions, the District Literacy Committee and the District Committee Opposing Human Trafficking had information tables for literature distribution.
District Governor Nominee, Melissa McCormick, announced the semi-finalists in this year’s Public Image competition. The winning club to be announced and honored at the District Conference.
