2016-2017 District Governor
2016-2017 District Governor Scott Shore
Scott joined Rotary in 1978, hoping to meet new friends and to become involved in the community to which Scott and Adriane had moved upon Scott’s graduation from law school.
He found all that, and more, as he continued up the learning curve toward serving as District Governor in 2016-2017.
Along that path, he has enjoyed 30 years of perfect attendance, served as Putnam County Rotary President (1983-1984), as Secretary & Bulletin Editor (1986-2016), website manager (2000-2016), and as an active participant in all Club projects.
On the District level, Scott has served as Assistant Governor, as a member and chair of the DG Nominating Committee, and as Short Term Youth Exchange Program Chair, in addition to serving in other committee and leadership roles.
Adriane, a retired special education teacher, is also a PC Rotarian and chairs the Club’s Literacy Committee, having previously served as Club President and as an Assistant Governor.
Scott is a graduate of Rockford-Guilford High, University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University School of Law. He practiced law in Hennepin, Ill., until elected as Circuit Judge in the Tenth Judicial Circuit in 1990, serving Marshall, Putnam, Stark, Peoria and Tazewell Counties for 24 years.
Scott retired from the bench in 2014, returning to his former law offices and a limited private practice – allowing more time for Rotary!
The Shores married in 1975 and raised three children: Erin (deceased); David (married to Haley); and Daniel, who is single. The Shores are members and Scott serves as Secretary-Treasurer of Temple B’nai Moshe in LaSalle.
Scott and Adriane are both Paul Harris Fellows and together achieved “major donor” status in 2015.
